My name is Jawad Alazzeh. I am a student at King’s Academy in Madaba, Jordan in the 9th grade. I am an aspiring archeologist with an interest in learning about ancient history around the world. Last summer I was at the Center for American Archaeology (CAA) in Illinois and worked on the German Site (800-1200 CE) for two weeks, and this coming summer I will work with Archaeospain on the Roman Fortress Pulpon built in the first century CE in Castilla, Spain. A research paper on the history of Jordan through maps sparked my interest in ancient history. I expanded my project to include a deep-dive into examining maps directly through accessing library archives, and interviewing experts to receive their guidance and wisdom. My results and their insights are documented in my podcast.
